Ginger is a potent antiviral that works by preventing the adhesion of viruses to the upper respiratory mucosa. It is effective but must be taken in high quantities. So – here is a recipe for a very potent fresh ginger juice or tea.
Ingredients:
- 1 to 2kg Fresh ginger root
- 12 Lemons
- One-pot of Raw Honey
- cayenne pepper,
- Filtered water
Use one to 1kg or 2 kg of ginger (which is a lot!). The easiest way to make the tea is to juice the ginger. If you don’t have a juicer, you can also grate the ginger, but this will take a little longer; then, add the ginger juice in a mug with the juice of half a lemon, a large tablespoon of good raw honey (it needs to be good quality), which is also antiviral, and then one-eighth of a teaspoon of cayenne pepper, and 250ml of hot water.
Alternatively, you could add all the ginger and water to a large stockpot, place it on the stovetop and simmer to reduce under low heat for 45 minutes.
To get the best results, drink 2 – 6 cups per day, sipping slowly throughout the day.
A word of warning – this drink does not taste delicious – I will tell you right now. It’s pretty intense, but it can be remarkably effective.
